100 gecs is quite the divisive group. One's initial reaction might be that this is just a big joke, a troll, a shitpost. The beats are distorted, often feeling unnecessarily blown out at times. The vocals are aggressively auto-tuned and I can only imagine how many times someone has called into question the duo's singing talent. Well they would tell you that it's not great and frankly that shouldn't really matter. As for the lyrics, well they may come across pretty asinine and not all that substantive. They even give nods to genres that were once quite popular but aren't really taken all that seriously these days; ska and dubstep are prime examples. If you write this record off for any one of the reasons listed above, I have to ask: why are you so opposed to having fun?

If you are able to let down your guard, even just for 23 minutes, you will see that this record is an absolute blast that serves up one memorable moment after another. money machine opens with this sadistic monologue that is so over the top and disrespectful. I guarantee you if you listen to this track the next time someone has crossed you, it will make you feel so much better. 800db cloud is incredibly overwhelming with its wall of distortion, but its the song's random transition into the grossest screaming passage that for better or worse, will leave a lasting impression on me. The chorus of stupid horse is one of the catchiest moments on the record with its trap styled beat and distorted punk guitar. The marriage of hip-hop and ska-punk on this track seems so unlikely, and yet I didn't know it was something I needed until I heard it. If you're having trouble adjusting to all the genre/culture mash-ups, then at least give the song ringtone a chance. It is perhaps the sweetest and most straight-forward pop cut on the record. The melody is lovely and the synth tone has a perfect dial tone quality that will instantly remind you of the ringtone craze I'm sure we've all experienced at one point in our lives.

I didn't love this thing right out of the gate. In fact I once held some of the same reservations that I often see in YouTube comments or Reddit posts. However, I found myself returning to this record again and again because the hooks are just that strong. I eventually became acclimatized to the album's wild and over-the-top presentation and it's left me craving for more.
