Be My Vengeance
Destiny Bond
Convulse Records is having a great year because here we are with another solid hardcore punk release. This time, we have Denver, Colorado's Destiny Bond who bring us a very classic sounding debut. I'm a fan; it's wonderfully produced, but performance wise, has that messy punk energy that I feel is kind of rare these days. It's playfully aggressive and has just enough melody to be catchy, but certainly not pop. Thematically, it's a little tough to determine given the wild vocal performances and lack of lyrics. However, from what I gather from a few moments, I get the sense that Destiny Bond is railing against close-mindedness and narrow viewpoints while rallying behind diversity and queerness. I'm here for it. This ten track, nineteen minute album is tight, consistent and will be sure to get you two-stepping or just straight-up acting a fool.
